Our Story
Dream it.
GPAC is located within the former train station of Carman, Manitoba. Built in 1902, Carman Canadian National Railway (CNR) Station building has national heritage status. The upper level of the railway station was a residence for the station master. Be sure to look for the original ‘Ticket Office’ window when visiting. GPAC is a municipal designated heritage site!
Build it.
GPAC acquired the railway station in 2003 to be transformed into the beautiful art gallery that it is today.
The waiting area of the train station was converted into an office and gallery space, while the freight storage area is now a classroom for workshops. The upper level has undergone considerable renovations and is now the primary location for music lessons.
Grow it.
Each year, GPAC continues to grow and expand. With programs, concerts, workshops, exhibitions and resources, there’s always something new! If you’re interested in displaying your work in our gift shop, instructing a workshop, teaching music lessons, or booking an exhibition - please call 204-745-6568.
